Jim earned undergrad and graduate degrees in journalism. He worked for smaller daily newspapers, then 12 years in NYC as a writer/editor for The Wall Street Journal, later as writer/editor/manager of creative services for a Fortune 10 company, and finally solo as an international consultant on readability. He's also taught readable writing to university and corporate clients. These days, he seeks passion and precision in poetry, play in dance, and peace in a garden with pleasant trees.
